Stairway is a short surreal scenario. It is intended to be played using the included level 1 singleton party.
Walk down the stairs.
2. My character keeps turning transparent, or, I keep dying when my character fades out of existance.
This is because you erased the ampersands drawn on the walls. You can still survive though, see the answer to number 6.
3. I keep getting killed by a single shade.
Make sure you're playing on normal difficulty, that's what the combat in this scenario is balanced for. On higher difficulties it may not be possible to finish.
4. There's a raised section of the stairs that I can't pass.
You need to use the ring to pass this point. If you aren't carrying it with you, bring it to the obstruction.
5. There's a magic barrier in my way.
This is the same as number 4. Bring the ring to the obstacle.
6. What do I use this chalk for?
You can use the chalk to redraw ampersands that you erased from the wall. This solves the problem dscribed in number 2.
7. I lost a fight to an endless stream of shades. Is that supposed to happen?
Yes, that is the correct way to finish the scenario. If you pay attention, you'll notice that Ampersand doesn't actually die here anyway.
